Dextran Magnetite (ATDM)

ATDM is a generic name for the hydrophilic colloidal solution of superparamagnetic iron oxide coated with alkali-treated dextran. The ATDM coated with Carboxydextran which is one of the kind of alkali-treated dextran is called Ferucarbotran. It is used for as a drug substance of MRI contrast media for liver cansor and a raw material of magnetic marker for medical device for breast cancer metastasis detection. In addition, Ferucarbotran attracts attention as an influential marker in MPI (magnetic particle imaging) which is a new diagnostic method.
