Carboxymethyl Dextran Magnetite（CMDM）

CMDM is a generic name of the hydrophilic colloid solution of superparamagnetic iron oxide coated with carboxymethyl dextran. Because the carboxymethyl dextran has plural carboxylic acid residues to one molecule, the free carboxylic acid residue (not binding to core magnetic iron oxide) can be used for combination with other substances. CMDM, using such a property, becomes indispensable for the production of the reagent for studies like a biosensor.
